Police have no suspects and no witnesses
A couple in Springbank Hill was awoken early Wednesday by the sound of their house being shot at. (Justin Pennell/CBC) A house in Springbank Hill was sprayed with bullets early Wednesday morning in an apparent case of mistaken identity. "There's nothing that would link the homeowner to any sort of motivation," said Det. Jody Cross. So far police do not have any witnesses and investigators have not identified any suspects, he added. Andrew Li and his wife were woken up when their house on Springbank Mews S.W. was hit with gunfire at 5:45 a.m.
Police are canvassing the area to try to find witnesses to the shooting. (Justin Pennell/CBC) No one was injured and no bullets entered the house. A second-floor window was shattered and the front door is riddled with shot marks. "It's definitely very unnerving and upsetting that this happened in our area," Li said. "Luckily the police were here very quickly, so that made us feel a lot safer," he added.
Police are canvassing residents in the hope that someone on their way to work saw the culprits.
