Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the accidentOne man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a single-vehicle crash near Standoff in southern Alberta.At approximately 5 p.m. on Dec. 12, the driver of the vehicle missed a turn in the road on Highway 2 and the SUV careened into a nearby field. Both occupants were transported to hospital where the 37-year-old man was pronounced dead and where the 30-year-old woman continues to receive care. Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in the fatal accident and the RCMP continues to investigate. No names have been released. |
